Surgery Went Well

TL;DR Kat is at home. Everything went well. Thank you for your thoughts and support!

Hi this Mike writing this post as Kat is still relaxing/recovering.

The day started out pretty early as surgery was in Pasadena and our arrival time was 5:30am. The hospital was nice, parking was convenient, and the nurses and doctors were great. The admitting and prep takes a long time with tons of questions, people coming in and out etc. but they wheeled her back at around 8am and the surgery was done around 10:45 or so. She was in recovery for a few more hours before she was discharged. We got home around 3 and she has been relaxing since.

She doesn’t have any excruciating pain but the chest muscles are pretty sore. The nerve block is still helping so we won’t have a true feel for the pain until probably tomorrow. Follow up with the surgeon is next Wednesday and the plan is to lay low until then.

Thank you all for following the blog and keeping her in your thoughts. It means a lot to her to know how much support she has out there!

  1. Glad to hear that all went well. It’s going to be great going forward since there’s no more surgery and only steady progress towards normality.
