Hello everyone, this will be a short post as my energy levels are still very much in recovery mode. That being said I wanted to thank everyone for your incredible support both before my surgery and after! I am so humbled and grateful for all of your support, positive thoughts, prayers, comments, messages, texts, phone calls, emails, meals, gifts, and everything else – thank you so very much! Thank you especially for wrapping me in the blue blanket of love before surgery started. Each and every one of you is so wonderful, and I’m so grateful.
I came home Saturday afternoon and have been slowly recovering. There’s a lot of soreness and numbness, but the pain is manageable. Mike has been an incredible help and I am so grateful for him! (I’ll share more on what recovery looks like later.)
The other good news is that both surgeons examined me this morning and things look really good from a wound standpoint and there is no sign of infection. I was able to shower this morning which was also nice. Mike is doing all the hard work with the emptying of the chest drains and I am grateful for that. I started my PT exercises on Saturday and so far those are going well too.
More to come in the next week or so, I wanted to let everyone know I’m home and healing well….thank you so very much for all of your incredible support, it means so very much!
I am so glad to see this! You are one tough cookie! As always, if you need anything….
❤️Maureen
So glad that everything has been going well. I wish you continued progress and a smooth path to recovery. Do your PT but be patient. We are all rooting for you.
